For over 20 years, Constellations ASBL has been financing and building day and night care homes across Belgium.
Our mission: to create new inclusive accommodation places and respond to the urgent need for inclusion and family support.
Between 2008 and 2028, Constellations will have created 19 homes, representing 574 care places:
244 already open
330 currently in development
These initiatives, carried out independently or in partnership with other associations, represent nearly 25% of all existing places in the Brussels-Capital Region.
2006 – 2013: first homes (Les Bolets, Artémia, Orféa).
Because waiting lists remained far too long, Constellations then decided to accelerate the creation of new places by supporting projects developed by other associations.
Since 2014, Constellations has brought its expertise to steering committees and provided financial support, enabling faster realization of these projects.
Projects must first be approved by a subsidizing authority and comply with the Constellations Charter, which guarantees respect for the fundamental rights of every person with a disability.
2014 – 2024: 7 homes in partnership (Villa Pilifs, Farra Stratégie, Artos, CREB Anderlecht, Les Piloux, La Maisonnée, Les Anémones).
Today: 6 active projects (CREB Woluwe – day & residential center, La Forestière, Atipi, Farilu, Les Aubépines). These homes are at an advanced stage,
with construction expected to begin in 2026.
Three new projects will be launched very soon !
👉 Each home created also generates local jobs, especially for recent graduates in the medical-social sector.
Our inclusive homes offer a variety of solutions for:
Young adults seeking adapted places.
People with a dual diagnosis (intellectual + psychiatric conditions).
Children and adults with multiple disabilities (mental + physical).
Children with autism, including those in early childhood.
Infants in inclusive nurseries (crèche inclusive).
Elderly people needing a safe and adapted living environment.
👉 Today, the 10 homes already open are fully operational, subsidized, and autonomous.
Never before have we managed so many projects simultaneously.
The international and economic context makes this challenge even more difficult, but we firmly believe that together, we can provide more inclusive housing for families in urgent need. 👉 Your support is essential:

*Dual Diagnosis : a combination of intellectual disability with behavioral disorders or mental illness
ATIPI and Les Aubepines
More great news to kick off the holidays: the specifications for the Atipi project have just been approved by the COCOM. The next step is now underway with the drafting and publication of the
call for tenders!
And the planning permission for Les Aubépines has just been granted, which allows us to move on to preparing the specifications.
🎉 A major step forward for Constellations and for the disability sector in Belgium!
👉 It’s official, after years of waiting, the projects of CREB Woluwé (two centres for children with multiple disabilities) and La Forestière (a day centre for adults in Ixelles) have just been approved by the Government of the Brussels-Capital Region. They can now launch their calls for
tender and move forward with construction.
🚧 Alongside the ATIPI project (in Boitsfort) and Les Aubépines (in Incourt), this brings the
total to five projects (190 places) dedicated to people with intellectual disabilities that Constellations will supervise.
✨ A true logistical, administrative and human challenge, carried by our small but committed team… and already a huge collective achievement, considering these projects made it through the Covid
crisis and a prolonged absence of government in Brussels.
👏 A heartfelt thank you to everyone supporting us! Every approval obtained, every stone laid is a step closer to a more inclusive society — and a major advancement for people with intellectual
disabilities in Belgium.
An incredible surge of generosity
At the very last minute, a generous donor who attended the show at the Théâtre des Galeries and wishes to remain anonymous, decided to offer us the €135,000 needed to ensure Tam-Tam’s continuity
until the end of the year.
This is excellent news — almost a small miracle — that secures the viability of our project for 2025.
It is now essential for a fully functioning government to take over and choose to support, from 2026 onwards, this innovative and vital project for mental health in Brussels.
Our annual event took place on April 14, 2025 at the Théâtre des Galeries. The play “Chers Parents” was under the High Patronage of Her Majesty Queen Paola. Numerous personalities attended the event, in particular Mr. Vervoort, Minister President of the Brussels-Capital Region, who honored us with his presence that evening, in recognition of the work carried out by Constellations asbl.
