Constellations ASBL builds and supports day centers and residential care homes for people with intellectual disabilities, mainly in the Brussels-Capital Region and Wallonia.
Since its foundation, Constellations has been committed to meeting an urgent need: providing dignified, safe, and adapted living spaces for people with intellectual disabilities.
Between 2006 and 2013, we opened our first three homes, laying the foundations for an effective and sustainable model.
Because waiting lists remain far too long, Constellations decided to increase the number of available places by also supporting
projects initiated by other associations.
Since 2014, we have provided:
our experience and expertise within steering committees,
decisive financial support, allowing inclusive homes to be built and opened more quickly.
👉 To receive our support, projects must:
comply with the Constellations Charter, ensuring respect for the fundamental rights of people with disabilities (dignity, inclusion, autonomy).
Once construction is complete, the operating costs of the homes are covered by the regional authorities (Brussels-Capital Region and
Walloon Regions).
👉 This guarantees:
a secure future for residents,
and the possibility to continue developing new projects in parallel.
In practice, Constellations is committed to:
reducing waiting lists that weigh heavily on families and young adults,
supporting other associations to multiply inclusive housing solutions in Belgium.
