This residential centre mainly houses 52 autistic people with severe disabilities or high dependency. Some of these people are getting older and need facilities adapted to their limited mobility. One of the buildings housing 24 of these people is in a building that needs complete reconstruction, as this building is in an advanced state of disrepair. Moreover, the building is totally unsuitable for the ageing needs of these 24 people, many of whom have a dual diagnosis.
This project will receive €700,000 support from the AVIQ, guaranteeing that operating costs will be covered, as is already the case. Constellations will support this project for €300,000.
We have already contacted the Lokumo and King Baudouin foundations .
We have now chosen a location for the new house and have received approval in principle from both the local government and the AViQ.
The planning application was approved in mid-July.
We are also looking for the necessary funds and have already collected some very substantial sums from residents' families.
We have had several meetings with foundations and have alreay some positive results.
The specifications have been finalised and we must submit them to the administration for final approval and launch the call for tenders in March 2026.
We are confident that we will find the remaining funds and therefore believe that we will be able to start work in autumn 2026.
Please note that 2 additional places will be created as part of this project.
