Le Renivaux: a dual project for two types of residents

Founded in 1975, Le Renivaux is a residential center located in Ottignies, in the heart of a green setting. It currently houses 25 residents, most of whom have multiple disabilities or a dual diagnosis (intellectual disability combined with a mental disorder).

Its mission is fully aligned with the Constellations charter: to support people in all aspects of daily life, ensuring their overall well-being, whether physical, emotional, relational, safety-related, or linked to their personal development.

It also aims to promote the development and maintenance of maximum autonomy throughout their lives, taking into account the specific abilities and aspirations of each resident.

Today, the building houses two living units: one dedicated to people with multiple disabilities, the other to people with behavioral disorders (dual diagnosis). However, the infrastructure, which has become dilapidated and unsuitable, no longer meets the specific needs of these groups. It is also too small to allow for an increase in capacity.

The current project therefore involves:

The construction of a new home for 16 aging people with multiple disabilities who are highly dependent on care;
The extensive renovation of the existing building to accommodate mainly people with dual diagnoses, adding 10 additional places.

The total cost of the project is estimated at €4,732,000. Significant assistance from the AViQ is expected under the new Walloon plan.We are currently in the very early stages of the project. The plans are due to be presented to AViQ in September, with a view to obtaining preliminary approval before submitting the planning application.

In this context, Constellations' support is crucial. It guarantees the feasibility of the project within a reasonable timeframe and helps to mobilize the funding necessary for its implementation.
